Mutual Agreement to Part Ways

VfL Wolfsburg and Luca Papp have agreed to terminate the midfielder's contract.

VfL Wolfsburg and Luca Papp are set to part ways: The contract between the She-Wolves and the Hungarian midfielder, which had originally been due to run until 2027, has been terminated by mutual agreement. The 24-year-old joined the Green-and-Whites from Hungarian top-flight side Ferencvarosi TC ahead of the 2024/2025 season. Papp made a total of six competitive appearances for the VfL Wolfsburg women’s team, providing one assist. She also featured for the club’s U20 women’s side in both the Regionalliga Nord and the 2. Bundesliga.

“We don’t want to stand in Luca’s way as she looks for a new challenge”

“Taking her sporting prospects into account, we decided not to stand in Luca’s way as she looks for a new challenge,” said Vanessa Bernauer, Director of Women’s Football at VfL Wolfsburg. “Not least because of injuries, she was only rarely able to show her qualities in a VfL shirt. We wish her all the very best for the next stage of her career!”
