VfL head coach Tobias Strobl will have to make do without defender Cleiton for the time being. The 23-year-old Brazilian, who was substituted early in Thursday’s friendly against Havelse, is suffering from muscular problems in his adductor area. His availability for the away match at 1. FC Nürnberg on 10 October (kick-off 20:30) is therefore in doubt, as is that of Timon Wellenreuther, who has recovered from his knee injury but is currently getting over an illness. Mattias Svanberg, meanwhile, will definitely miss out. The Swede has sustained an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined until further notice.
