After a total of nine years with the Green-Whites, Britta Carlson is to leave Wolfsburg at the end of the current season at her own request. The co-trainer of the Lady-Wolves has terminated her contract with the women’s Bundesliga side to make a move to the German Football Federation (DFB), where she will take on the same role as co-trainer alongside new DFB head-coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg. Considering her service to the club, VfL have granted the DFB’s wish to have Britta Carlson with the national team for their test-friendly in Hamilton, Canada on June 10th. Thus, the 40-year-old will begin her new job immediately after her final competitive game with the Lady-Wolves, the DFB-Cup final against 1. FC Köln on June 3rd. As to who will fill the co-trainer position with the VfL women is as yet undecided, but will be clarified shortly.
