VfL Wolfsburg have secured the services of Micky van de Ven for the long term after the centre-back signed a contract extension valid until 2027, adding two years to his previous deal. The 21-year-old, who joined VfL in summer 2021 from Dutch second-tier side FC Volendam, has not missed a single minute of action in the Bundesliga or DFB Cup this season. In total, the Dutchman has made 27 Bundesliga appearances for the Green-and-Whites and a further three in the DFB Cup, registering one goal and three assists so far.

“A player with huge potential”

“We’re pleased that Micky has extended his contract with us and that we can plan with him in the long term,” said Marcel Schäfer, managing director for sport. “He’s a player with huge potential and this season in particular he has shown incredible development, playing himself into the spotlight with his performances. The fact that Micky has signed a long-term extension shows that he would like to continue along the path with us at VfL Wolfsburg.”

“I love playing in this team”

That’s why I’m delighted to be staying as part of VfL Wolfsburg beyond 2025, and to be able to continue my development here. I really love playing in this team and would like to contribute to VfL Wolfsburg achieving their goals.”
