International duty update

Once again, several She-Wolves were in action for their national teams.

The current international window in the Women’s World Cup qualifiers is in full swing. Numerous players from the VfL Wolfsburg Women squad have already featured for their national teams, collecting important points in the race for top spot.

Germany remain dominant – Endemann on target

The German national team continues its successful run in World Cup qualifying. In the 5-1 win over Austria, several She-Wolves featured: Janina Minge played the full 90 minutes, Vivien Endemann featured for 65 minutes and scored a goal. Sarai Linder came on in the 65th minute, while Stina Johannes and Camilla Küver were unused substitutes. With nine points now on the board, Germany remain top of the table.

Oranje take the lead – Norway with emphatic win

The Netherlands secured an important victory in the top clash against France. In the 2-1 win, Lineth Beerensteyn played the full match and captained the Oranje. Janou Levels was introduced in the 60th minute, while Ella Peddemors also featured during the game. With the win, the Dutch move to the top of the table with seven points, now ahead of France.

Norway, meanwhile, impressed with a convincing 5-0 victory over Slovenia. Thea Bjelde played the full match, Justine Kielland came on in the 68th minute, while Guro Bergsvand entered the pitch shortly before the end. With six points, Norway currently sit second behind Germany.

Other She-Wolves were also in international action: Switzerland recorded a 3-1 win over Turkey and now sit top of their group with nine points. Smilla Vallotto was an unused substitute. Poland suffered a 3-2 defeat to Ireland, with Weronika Arasniewicz remaining on the bench for the entire match. The loss sees Poland drop to fourth place in the group.

She-Wolves also in demand at youth level

Germany’s youth teams were also successful: the U national team recorded a 3-0 win over Ireland and a 4-2 victory against Slovakia. Nelly Smolarczyk did not feature in either match. Anny-Kerim Lindland was in action for Norway’s U19s, playing the full 90 minutes in both the 3-0 win over North Macedonia and the 0-2 defeat to Austria. Maja Zielinska also featured for Poland’s U19s: she came on in the 62nd minute in the 4-0 win over Romania and scored a goal.
