After one season with the VfL Wolfsburg women’s team, Guro Bergsvand is heading to Tuscany: The Norway international has joined Italian club ACF Fiorentina. The contract between VfL and the 32-year-old defender, which had originally been due to run until 2027, has been terminated by mutual agreement. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose the transfer fee. Bergsvand joined the She-Wolves ahead of the 2025/2026 season from English top-flight side Brighton & Hove Albion and made a total of 27 competitive appearances in green and white, scoring two goals.
“She didn’t get the playing time she had hoped for”
“Last season, Guro didn’t get the playing time she had hoped for,” said Vanessa Bernauer, Sporting Director at VfL Wolfsburg. “With that in mind, and taking the overall financial package into account, we agreed to her request to leave. We wish Guro all the best for the future!”
