Chantal Hagel will not be part of the VfL Wolfsburg Women squad going forward. The 26-year-old midfielder, who had a year left to run on her contract, is looking for a new challenge abroad. “Chantal came to us with the wish for a change – also to get more playing time,” explained Ralf Kellermann, director of women’s football at VfL Wolfsburg. “We’ve now been able to grant her that wish as we found a good solution for all involved. We thank Chantal for her service in green-and-white and wish her all the best for the future.”
Hagel joined VfL Women in summer 2023 from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The midfielder made a total of 42 competitive appearances in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga, DFB Cup and UEFA Women’s Champions League, with 16 of those coming in the most recent 2024/25 campaign.
