Goosebumps at the Final Training Session

More than 2,000 VfL fans push the team ahead of the important home game against HSV.

VfL’s public final training session on Friday afternoon was attended by more than 2,000 fans and staff members – a powerful show of support ahead of the crucial home game against Hamburger SV.

“Impressive and emotional”

“There were moments when we were honestly speechless. None of us expected so many fans to be here today. It was impressive and incredibly emotional. Feeling that kind of support is enormously valuable – it can release so much positive energy. This unity will carry us,” said head coach Daniel Bauer.

At 3:30 p.m., his players were welcomed with thunderous applause by the green-and-white fans who had gathered at the D-Platz behind the AOK Stadion. In addition to the many supporters, the club’s sporting management, numerous VfL staff members and the injured players were also in attendance for the roughly one-hour session.

Arnold’s promise

After training, the Wolves lined up in front of the fans. Captain Maximilian Arnold took the megaphone and addressed the crowd with emotional words: “It’s incredible how many of you are here today – especially in this difficult situation. For us as a team, that means an enormous amount. You can be sure of one thing: in the remaining games, we will give absolutely everything to stay in the Bundesliga. We know that we have to lead the way, but we need every single one of you. We can only do it together.”

Standing shoulder to shoulder with the fans

Capo Marvin Minner then addressed the team with clear words and fired up everyone present once again. To round things off, the team and supporters joined together in chants: “Come on Wolfsburg, fight and win!” That is exactly the motto for Saturday’s home game.
