VfL Women will have the opportunity for revenge at the end of August when they face FC Bayern Munich again in the Google Pixel Supercup. The two sides will battle it out at the BBBank Wildpark in Karlsruhe on Saturday 30 August at 14:00 CEST, as confirmed by the German Football Association (DFB) on Thursday.
Second edition of the competition
The Supercup was reinstated last year after a 27-year hiatus. On that occasion, cup winners Wolfsburg took on champions Bayern at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden, with the She-Wolves going down to a narrow 1-0 defeat. As the Munich side claimed the double of the Bundesliga and DFB Cup last season, VfL now have the chance for revenge as league runners-up.
