The club’s third new signing for the 2026/2027 season is confirmed: Fabian Reese has joined the Green-and-Whites from capital club Hertha BSC. The 28-year-old attacking player has signed a contract with VfL Wolfsburg until 30 June 2030. He will wear the number 11 shirt under head coach Tobias Strobl. “Fabian has been one of the strongest players in Bundesliga 2 over the past few years. He is a key player who not only brings outstanding attacking qualities, but also an exceptional level of commitment, leadership and mentality. We’re very excited to have him with us,” said VfL sporting director Primin Schwegler.
“The right step for me”
“The decision to make a move was certainly not an easy one for me, which I’m sure people can understand. But it was a very deliberate decision, and one that makes me very happy. The way VfL fought to bring me here made me feel greatly valued. The highly professional environment, as well as the values upheld by the club, Volkswagen and the people around it, were key factors in my decision. Right from the start, I had the feeling that this was the right step for me,” said Fabian Reese.
