Continued cooperation

The collaboration with Al-Jazira Club through the U23 training-camp is to be expanded.

The cooperation between VfL Wolfsburg and Al-Jazira Club, which has existed for two years, has now been broadened further following the U23 training-camp in Abu Dhabi. After the club from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) held a training camp in Wolfsburg in 2016, the recent trip was the return-visit. And a very successful one! The Wolves Under 23s were left wanting for nothing, not least thanks to the wonderful support of Mohammed Hamdi, Director of Marketing at the club!

"Exceptional conditions"

"We are very satisfied about how things worked out, as we got to work under exceptional conditions – the hotel and the pitches were excellent. Aside from the sporting elements, we thoroughly enjoyed all the trimmings. The cooperation with Al-Jazira Club was really active and we are very happy to have been there. We perfectly managed to implement everything we’d set out to do," noted U23 Director Pablo Thiam.

New contacts

The German Football League (DFL) and Eintracht Frankfurt, who have been regular guests in the United Arab Emirates for many years, hosted a reception during the training-camp in Abu Dhabi. One of the invited guests was Pablo Thiam, as a representative of VfL Wolfsburg. Here, the 44-year-old established many new contacts, whilst enjoying interesting exchanges with other former professionals, such as Uwe Bein and Charly Körbel (Eintracht Frankfurt) and also Lothar Matthäus, who was in attendance as representative of the DFL.
