After firing Algeria to the World Cup with two goals in the 3-0 win over Somalia on Thursday, VfL striker Mohammed Amoura followed up with two late penalties – the second in the ninth minute of stoppage time – to clinch a 2-1 victory at home to second-placed Uganda on Tuesday.
Dzenan Pejcinovic also demonstrated nerves of steel from the spot at the end of the international break. The 20-year-old converted the winning penalty shortly after coming on in Northern Ireland as Germany U21s triumphed 2-1 in Euro qualifying.
