A dozen institutions, nine of which are new, and a record number of participants – on Wednesday, 220 Green-and-Whites employees set off to take part in regional projects as part of the 2025 ‘Wir-für-euch’ (‘We-for-you’) day, including members of the VfL first team and the entire Wolves management. From gardening to painting and supporting the Lebenshilfe Wolfsburg sports festival, there was plenty to get stuck in to – but the hard work did not detract from the enjoyment of the activities.
Dungarees instead of training gear
Training tops were swapped for dungarees, and laptops for gardening gloves as players, coaching staff and countless VfL employees joined forces in the city and the surrounding region – and all for an excellent cause. An all-time high of 12 institutions were paid a visit by Green-and-White helpers this year, with a record 220 participants highlighting how integral the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) event – which took place for the sixth time after 2013, 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2024 – has become in the VfL calendar.
“Commitment connects us with the people”
“For us, it goes without saying that we take an active part in the ‘Wir-für-euch’ day along with our players, even during the season,” said VfL managing director for sport Peter Christiansen. “This commitment connects us with the people who support us every day, and makes VfL a living part of the community. At the same time, it reminds us of the reality of many people who aren’t always doing too well in life.”
