The VfL Wolfsburg women’s team have added a promising talent to their goalkeeping ranks: 17-year-old goalkeeper Ylvi Eisenbeiß has joined the Green-and-Whites from Eintracht Frankfurt, completing a quartet alongside Stina Johannes, Martina Tufekovic and Christina Schönwetter.

“With Ylvi, we are bringing a major talent into our goalkeeping group. She is an excellent fit for VfL Wolfsburg both personally and professionally, and she has all the attributes needed to continue her development with us over the long term,” said goalkeeping coach Marcel Schulz. Andreas Arr-You, goalkeeping coach and youth goalkeeping coordinator, also sees great potential in the young shot-stopper: “Ylvi stands out for her excellent play in possession and clear communication. In addition, she impresses out of possession with her strengths in one-on-one situations and her brave approach to defending space. We believe she has what it takes to take the next steps in her development and establish herself in our first-team goalkeeping group in the future.”

Developed at a High Level
Born in Wolfhagen in northern Hesse, the goalkeeper stands 1.70 metres tall and played for KSV Hessen Kassel before joining Eintracht Frankfurt. The two-footed shot-stopper had been under contract with the Hessian club since 1 June 2024. For Eintracht Frankfurt, she made three appearances for the U20 side in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga and eight appearances for the U17 team in the Regionalliga Süd. She was also included in the Eintracht Frankfurt women’s first-team matchday squad on four occasions in the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga and was named in the squad three times for European competition. In addition, Eisenbeiß gained experience with Hesse’s regional representative teams and has already been called up to Germany’s U15 and U16 national teams.
