A special football celebration for the anniversary

The She-Wolves delighted around 920 spectators at HSV Hankensbüttel.

A big stage for a special anniversary: As part of its 125th anniversary celebrations, HSV Hankensbüttel welcomed the VfL Wolfsburg women’s team for a friendly against FC Pfeil Broistedt yesterday evening. It was a first for the hosts, with a VfL professional team playing in Hankensbüttel for the very first time. The area around the sports ground had already become a meeting point for football fans from across the region two hours before kick-off. Numerous visitors enjoyed the wide-ranging supporting programme organised together with VfL.

Football school and interactive activities delight fans

A special highlight for the youngest guests was the VfL Football School trial camp. Around 60 children took part in a training session between 4.30pm and 5.45pm and had the chance to get actively involved themselves. There was also plenty happening away from the pitch: the VfL activity stage provided entertainment with music and hosting, while interactive attractions such as the VfL target wall, football darts, a bouncy castle and the speed-control challenge offered even more action and fun. Naturally, Wölfi was also there, mingling with the fans and bringing plenty of smiles to the faces of the younger visitors in particular.

15 goals in front of a fantastic crowd

Kick-off for the match between the VfL women and FC Pfeil Broistedt finally came at 6.30pm. The two teams had previously met once before, ten years ago. Particularly pleasing was the fact that some players who had featured in that first encounter were once again involved this time around. In front of around 920 spectators, VfL delivered a goal-filled performance and won the match 15-0. The goals came from Smilla Vallotto, Guro Bergsvand, Janina Minge (2), Sophia Kleinherne, Alexandra Popp, Svenja Huth (2), Karla Brinkmann, Sarai Linder, Anny Kerim-Lindland (2), Kessya Bussy (2) and Weronika Arasniewicz.

After the match, the team still took time for autographs, photos and personal interactions.
