First Team

A Shared Night by the Water

Team and fans spend a lively evening together at the end of the training camp.

To mark the fitting conclusion of their training camp in Lisbon, VfL Wolfsburg continued a long-standing tradition: on Wednesday evening, the team, coaching staff and support staff spent a joint evening with the traveling fans at Sud Lisboa. Located right on the waterfront, with views of the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Christ the King statue, the setting created a relaxed and family-like atmosphere.

A Great Show of Appreciation

The evening was opened by Managing Director for Sport Peter Christiansen, who addressed the guests with a few personal words: “It’s a special tradition that the team, fans and media representatives come together for an evening like this. You don’t often see that at other clubs – and it’s really something special. We’re very happy that you’ve accompanied us over the past week and are spending this final evening with us.”

VfL fan liaison officer Carsten Krystek then took the microphone. He welcomed surprise guest Maria Nowak and, on behalf of the traveling fans, expressly thanked all the organizers and those who made the fan trip possible: “None of this can be taken for granted – and we know that.”

“It’s Outstanding”

After a joint team photo on the terrace against the impressive Lisbon backdrop, the long-awaited words finally followed: “The buffet is open.” Enjoying delicious Mediterranean food, cool drinks and many good conversations, the Green-Whites and the VfL fans brought the evening – and with it the 2026 winter training camp – to a close together.

To round things off, Maximilian Arnold took the floor once more. The captain was impressed by the fans’ commitment: “It’s outstanding how many people made the journey. I hope that here in Portugal we’ve laid the foundation together for a successful second half of the season.”
