In the second pre-season test match ahead of the 2018/2019 campaign, the Wolves notched up another victory. Away to KSV Baunatal, as part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Volkswagen factory in Baunatal, Bruno Labbadia’s men racked up a 7-0 win. The goals for the Green-Whites in Baunatal’s 'Parkstadion' were scored by Daniel Ginczek (21' and 32'), Yunus Malli (60'), Elvis Rexhbecaj (65'), Paul Seguin (72'), Wout Weghorst (73') and Riechedly Bazoer (90'). Aside from several training sessions, the Wolves play a further friendly this week: On Friday (kick-off 18:00 CEST), the Wolves face Lupo Martini.
"Interesting game from both sides
VfL head coach Bruno Labbadia: "It was an interesting game from both sides. KSV looked to defend high up the park, which was very good for us, because on Saturday we played against an opponent that defended very deep. We had set plans for today and we learned our lessons from this match. Today we got to see that quickly shifting the ball and the correct movement, which we had been practicing in training in recent days, worked quite well – and we scored some well taken goals too! Aside from that, the 60th anniversary of the Volkswagen factory in Baunatal was naturally a wonderful reason to come here.
