The Wolves are now unbeaten in five friendlies after drawing 1-1 with Turkish top-flight side Fenerbahce on Monday evening at the club's pre-season training camp in Austria.
In Max Kruse, Tolga Cigerci and Murat Saglam, a trio of former VfL players began for the Turkish outfit, who finished sixth in last season's SüperLig. Vedat Muriqi scored the opener in the 25th minute, before Wout Weghorst equalised in the second half (63').

Lessons to be learned

VfL head coach Oliver Glasner: "It was a good test for us, with two very different halves. In the first 45 minutes we were very solid at the back and didn't really give them any chances, but in attack we went out wide too often instead of going direct. The opposite was true after the break: we had a lot of joy in the final third and won a lot of balls high up the pitch, but we gave them a few goalscoring opportunities. We can learn a lot of lessons from this and overall I'm very satisfied."

Union still to come

Oliver Glasner's men will remain at their base in Schladming until Saturday 27 July, when they meet newly promoted Bundesliga rivals 1. FC Union Berlin (kick-off 15:00 CET) before flying home.  The match will be streamed live on VfL Wolfsburg's YouTube channel.
