VfL Wolfsburg Women extended their season-opening winning run to four matches on Sunday, easing to a comfortable 4-0 away victory over Bayer Leverkusen. Lena Goessling (4’ pen.), Pauline Bremer (15’), Felicitas Rauch (53’) and Pia-Sophie Wolter (64’) got the goals for the Green-and-Whites at the Kurtekotten youth academy, strengthening their grip on second place in the table. The double-winners are back in FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga action on Wednesday 7 October (kick-off 18:00 CEST), when they welcome SC Sand to the AOK Stadion.

“We were completely dominant”

VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: “I’m very happy to be heading into our midweek game with another three points. We showed Leverkusen a lot of respect but we still had control of the match right from the first minute. The early opener settled our nerves, and after that we were completely dominant in what were difficult conditions. At the end of the day we deserved our win.”
