The coaches share their thoughts on the Wolves’ goalless draw at home to RB Leipzig.
The Green-and-Whites put in a robust display to make life tough for their visitors, while also creating several chances of their own, and could have taken all three points against the Bundesliga’s second-placed side. As such, head coach Oliver Glasner was satisfied with his charges after the final whistle.
Oliver Glasner: “Both teams deserved the point today. We were very good in the first half, were very disciplined and closed down the spaces. Our boys did that really well and kept having dangerous moments on the counter-attack. In the second half Leipzig continually increased the pressure. We wanted to give them space out wide because we knew they like to link up quickly through the middle. We defended those situations very well and could even have won it with the late chance for Xaver Schlager. But I think that a draw is a decent result for both teams today.”
Julian Nagelsmann: “Overall it wasn’t easy against a team that defended well and that has a good physical presence in a lot of positions. That made it difficult for us to have any chances. Then there were a couple of counters that could’ve been more dangerous. I think a point is OK because neither team was that much better than the other to have deserved a win.”
