The coaches’ reactions after the Wolves’ defeat at home to Bayern.
Oliver Glasner was unhappy with the mistakes his side made in the 3-2 defeat at home to Bayern Munich, but the VfL head coach still saw plenty of positives to take from the game.
Oliver Glasner: “I said in the build-up to this match that we’d need to be at our very best in every area in order to beat Bayern, but we were too error-prone today. It was very nice to see the way we attacked and created chances. After going 3-1 down we fought back again and tried everything we could to get a point. We had opportunities to get an equaliser but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. It’s very important to be efficient, and that wasn’t the case for us today, neither in attack nor in defence. Obviously we’re disappointed because of that. Still, there were plenty of positives too. The mentality the team showed again today gives me optimism going into our remaining games.”
Hansi Flick: “After our game on Tuesday, we showed a fantastic mentality again today against a high-quality opponent. We wanted to take all three points, so the team deserve credit for that. I’m happy with their morale. Now we’ve got a seven-point lead at the top and five more games to play. We want to win those, that’s our objective, so we need to stay focused.”
