In the space of just six days, VfL have got themselves well and truly back on track, first in the Bundesliga and then also in the UEFA Europa League. For the first time this season the Wolves have the chance to make it a three-win week, but in order to do so they will have to take care of business at home to northern rivals Bremen on Sunday 1 December (kick-off: 18:00 CET). Ahead of the match, Glasner faced the press as usual on Thursday and spoke about…

… getting back on a roll: “Basically everything’s gone as we expected it to. It’s normal to have good and bad periods throughout a season. We never got nervous or worked up, and we never really dwelt on the fact that we were missing a lot of important players through injury. Now though we’re happy that those players are back. We’ve got 20 points, which puts us in a good position in the Bundesliga and we’ve also achieved an important milestone that we set ourselves in the summer, namely making into the knockout phase of the Europa League. Obviously we want to use the momentum we’ve picked up to do everything we can to make it a perfect week by rounding it off with a win at home.”

… the squad: “I’m delighted to say that we got back without any major injuries to report. Yunus Malli is the only one, he’s still got back issues, while Marcel Tisserand is suspended so Robin Knoche will most likely come in for him. Other than that, all the players under consideration appear to be fully fit and Daniel Ginczek is also a possibility to make the squad.”

… the opposition: “Werder have got the potential to qualify for Europe. At the beginning of the season, they really suffered with injuries but the team can play some very attractive football and with players like [Yuya] Osako, [Milot] Rashica and [Josh] Sargent they’ve also got a lot of pace. I expect them to try to get forward at every opportunity and put us under pressure throughout, particularly since they’ll have had more time to prepare for this match.”
