Following victories against Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Bundesliga and Hannover 96 in the DFB Cup, the Wolves round off a busy week with a home clash against league leaders BVB. At the press conference ahead of the Matchday 10 meeting with die Schwarz-Gelben, head coach Bruno Labbadia spoke about a range of topics…

…opponents Borussia Dortmund: “There’s a reason why they’re so far ahead [in the league table]. They’re very organised, have good individual players and play very good football - they’re the team to beat in the Bundesliga. Borussia are on a par with Bayern and they have a very strong squad. It’s a game in which we’ll need a top performance. We’ll have our work cut out, but we want to cause Dortmund problems too.”

adjusting his team's mindset fora side of Dortmund's calibre on the back of straightforward victories: “The good thing is that three points are up for grabs here too. There are no more easy opponents in the Bundesliga, even if Dortmund are on a different level to Düsseldorf and Hannover. Borussia don’t just play nice football though, they can also defend - just like they did in the 4-0 win against Atletico Madrid, when they played almost exactly like Atletico normally do.”

…the Wolves’ chances against BVB: “We need a top performance. We’ve already shown against other teams that we’re capable of producing one. A lot has to go right for that to happen, but why shouldn’t we do well?”

…the personnel situation: “We’re still waiting on Admir Mehmedi, who is suffering with a calf injury. Paul Verhaegh was involved in most of today’s training session after recovering from a neck problem. Felix Klaus took part in light training for the first time today - he’s making good progress. Josuha Guilavogui and Ignacio Camacho are still unavailable.”
