After the two-week international break, VfL Wolfsburg get back to business in the Bundesliga on Easter Saturday as they welcome 1. FC Köln to the Volkswagen Arena (kick-off 15:30 CEST). The Wolves are looking to further cement their position in third with three points against the third-from-bottom Billy Goats. At the pre-match press conference, Oliver Glasner spoke about…

…team news: “Admir Mehmedi and Renato Steffen are out injured, and Paulo Otavio is still suspended after his red card at Hoffenheim. All other players are available, though.”

…the final stretch of the Bundesliga season: “There are still eight games to go in the league. We’re just taking it one step at a time and concentrating on keeping the players physically and mentally fit. That’s also why we got the squad together for a video analysis of the Bremen game on Thursday as soon as the international players were back, so that our minds were fully back on ourselves and playing as a team against Köln, in the way we have done in recent weeks and months.”

…the task against Köln: “Köln are the first hurdle on the home stretch and one we want to navigate successfully. That won’t be easy, as Köln showed in their last game before the international break against Dortmund. Köln are always dangerous, are well-organised, can pose a goal threat and are also a threat from set pieces. We’re warned and we know we have to be on our guard at all times. We want to celebrate a home win and get another three points on the board.”
