Tommy Stroot made a winning start in his first game as VfL Wolfsburg Women head coach as the She-Wolves beat Rosenborg 2-0 in their first pre-season friendly. Ewa Pajor opened the scoring at Elsterweg against the Norwegian top flight’s second-placed side, before Rosenborg captain Mali Naess put through her own net.
VfL take on PSV Eindhoven at the AOK Stadion in their next friendly on Wednesday 4 August (kick-off 14:00 CEST).
VfL head coach Tommy Stroot: “We wanted to find out how far along we are. We managed to do that and we can build on [our performance]. It wasn’t all good, but it wasn’t all bad either. We now know exactly where the girls are at. We’ve beaten our opponents in our first proper XI v XI game. It was a good start.”
