German top-flight soccer club VfL Wolfsburg has signed a multi-year partnership with Dutch isotonic drinks manufacturer OSONYQ that covers their men’s, women’s and academy teams.
The deal will run for five seasons, from 2019-20 to 2023-24, within OSONYQ serving as the official sports drink of VfL Wolfsburg, which finished 6th in the Bundesliga last season spurred by a remarkable performance of Dutch striker Wout Weghorst.
The agreement marks OSONYQ’s entry into the sports sponsorship market in Germany after previously striking partnerships with the likes of e.g. Juventus Turin, Vitesse Arnheim, West Ham United or AS Monaco as well as several high profile Dutch athletes like emerging tennis star Kiki Bertens.
Michael Meeske, VfL Wolfsburg’s managing director, highlights: “OSONYQ is obviously an innovative and visionary company, which is a key element we look for in all our partnerships and we’re excited to see this relationship develop and grow over the upcoming years. As we’re both aiming on establishing our brand globally, we’re happy to be part of this journey together and bring in our expertise and network.”
Marcel Kraaibeek, OSONYQ’s Chief Sales Officer, added: “OSONYQ Sports Drink is very proud to take the first steps in the German market with VfL Wolfsburg. The ambition of the club in combination with their healthy values and strong local partnerships has been the deciding factor for us to enter into this partnership. Together we will work on strong activations to inform the future talents about the importance to fuel your body with natural and more healthy ingredients.” As part of the deal, OSONYQ will have LED presence and activations at VfL Wolfsburg’s Volkswagen Arena, presence in the club’s merchandise and retail outlets and digital activations to interact with the club’s fan base.
