Bayern have not drawn a match since the 1-1 stalemate at Borussia Mönchengladbach on the opening day of the season, recording 21 wins and three defeats in all competitions.

Both meetings between the clubs last term were relatively tight affairs. Bayern edged to a narrow 2-1 victory over VfL in the first half of the campaign before triumphing 3-2 at the Volkswagen Arena later in the season.
