More facts and figures

  • Julian Nagelsmann’s side have won 13 of their 16 Bundesliga matches so far this term, putting them on course to retain their crown. They also have by far the best attack in the league, having found the net on 52 occasions.

  • Bayern have not drawn a match since the 1-1 stalemate at Borussia Mönchengladbach on the opening day of the season, recording 21 wins and three defeats in all competitions.

  • Of the 55 meetings between Bayern and Wolfsburg to date, the record champions have won 43, drawn eight and lost four. However, the Wolves have never won in the Bavarian capital.

  • The last time VfL avoided defeat against Bayern was in 2017/18, when they played out a 2-2 draw in Munich. Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Maximilian Arnold and Daniel Didavi were the goalscorers that day.

  • Both meetings between the clubs last term were relatively tight affairs. Bayern edged to a narrow 2-1 victory over VfL in the first half of the campaign before triumphing 3-2 at the Volkswagen Arena later in the season.
