Wölfinnen jubeln auf dem Spielfeld im Spiel gegen SC Sand.

Another Bundesliga win for VfL Wolfsburg Women! Head coach Stephan Lerch’s team defeated SC Sand 4-0 at home on Wednesday evening, with Alexandra Popp (25’, 67’), Pauline Bremer (45’+1) and Shanice van de Sanden (87’) on the scoresheet in front of 618 fans at the AOK Stadion.

The Green-and-Whites are now top of the table with five wins in as many league games, and they will be looking to keep the run going in their next match in four days’ time. On Sunday 11 October (kick-off 14:00 CEST) the double-winners take on SC Freiburg, with another three FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga points up for grabs.

“Take a lot of positives”

VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: “It was clear what we set out to do. We wanted to maintain a high tempo, score goals and keep going right through to the end, and the team carried out that plan very well. We’re happy with the result but not entirely satisfied because there were a few other chances that we should have put away. Nevertheless, we can take a lot of positives out of the match. That’s two wins from as many games in less than a week, so let’s keep that up.”
