Sunday 25 October (kick-off 15:30 CET) will see VfL Wolfsburg host Arminia Bielefeld at the Volkswagen Arena, and after four consecutive draws to open the season, the Wolves are determined to get their first win of the campaign against the newly promoted side. In his press conference ahead of the match, head coach Oliver Glasner spoke about….
…the trust he has in his team: “The performances we’ve shown in the matches so far give me the confidence to believe we’ll be able to get our first home win in a very long time on Sunday against Arminia Bielefeld.”
…the opposition: “We’ve obviously been focusing on Arminia. They have a clear structure to the way they play and they’re full of running. We’ve got a lot of respect for Bielefeld but we’re going out there to get our first home win of the season.”
…the squad: “There are no new injuries to contend with, but Josip Brekalo is obviously out. Wout Weghorst trained today for the first time this week and didn’t have any problems, so he’ll be available. Joao Victor and Daniel Ginczek already managed to train with the squad for the whole week without any setbacks. Also it’s great to see Kevin Mbabu and Marin Pongracic back in training.”
…how he himself is holding up: “I don’t feel under any pressure. What matters to me are the performances we come out with on the pitch – and up until now, those have been good for the most part. If we can carry on putting in good performances and step it up a notch here or there, then the wins will come.”
