VfL Wolfsburg have taken an important step towards further expanding the club's international reach, with Chinese company Linglong Tire agreeing to extend its contract for another three years and remain a ClubofChampions Partner. "I'm very happy we've extended the partnership, not only because Linglong Tire is a top sponsor and important cornerstone of our activities in China, but also because our cooperation has always been conducted in a very family-oriented manner," said VfL Managing Director Michael Meeske.
Partnership since 2015
The association first began with the exclusive tyre partner, which is also regularly represented at the Volkswagen Arena during home matches, at the start of 2015. Linglong Tire was initially an international partner of the Wolves, before strengthening its commitment on 1 July 2018 to become a global ClubofChampions Partner. Throughout its time with the club, Linglong Tire has supported the VfL Football School and organised joint visits to China. VfL Wolfsburg and Linglong Tire also work together with regard to CSR, the most recent example being the "Tiger Kids Club" in Shanghai in November 2018.
'A bright future'
Linglong Tire will continue to have a visible advertising presence with VfL Wolfsburg, both domestically and internationally. Further visits to the VfL Football School in China are planned, while the partnership will also be intensified in women’s football.
