The unbeaten She-Wolves travel to fifth-placed Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 14:00 CEST). The reigning champions head into the game with history on their side, having won their last ten meetings with Leverkusen. At the press conference ahead of the game, head coach Stephan Lerch was asked about…

…team news: “Apart from Sara Doorsoun and Ewa Pajor, Fridolina Rolfö also remains sidelined. She’s still training on her own due to the lingering effects of her concussion. We’re going about things very carefully there, which is why she’s not an option yet.”

…the past week of training: “The last few days have left me with a good impression. The new signings are settling in more and more, which remains an important issue for us. Other than that the mood is good, we’re training with focus and the atmosphere is positive throughout.”

…the new signings’ hopes of a starting berth: “They’re very committed in training and are showing their quality on the pitch. A lot of things are new for them, though – and we’re in the middle of the season. We haven’t had the time we normally have during pre-season, where you don’t have any competitive games and can try things out. Shanice van de Sanden was in Lyon at the beginning of the week to move out of her flat, so travel fatigue is also a factor with her. I’ve yet to decide whether Shanice or Karina Saevik will start the match or give us an option from the bench.”

…the objectives against Leverkusen: “We need to produce a focussed performance and be more clinical in front of goal than we were against Meppen, for example.”
