She-Wolves held late on

VfL Women have to be content with a 2-2 draw away to Juventus in their UWCL group match.

Two away games in the new-style UEFA Women’s Champions League and two draws for VfL Wolfsburg Women. After the 3-3 stalemate in their opener against Chelsea Women, the Green-and-Whites also came away with a point from their trip to Turin against Italian champions Juventus.

Some 12,739 fans watched a thrilling match in the Allianz Stadium which ended in a 2-2 draw, but it was a bitter pill for the She-Wolves to swallow after they conceded the equaliser in the dying seconds of injury time, after Lena Lattwein and Tabea Waßmuth had seen them come from behind to take a 2-1 lead. VfL currently sit second in Group A and still have every chance of making it through to the quarter-finals next year.

The next Champions League tie will be the return fixture against Juventus on Thursday 18 November (kick-off: 18.45 CET) at the AOK Stadion. Prior to that, however, VfL will be back in FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga action on Saturday 13 November (kick-off: 14:00 CET), with a trip to leaders Bayern Munich in a match where second in the table take on first.
