VfL Wolfsburg Women return to FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga action after the international break with a home game against sixth-placed SC Freiburg on Sunday (kick-off 14:00 CEST). The She-Wolves drew 1-1 with the Breisgau club earlier this season.

VfL will be sponsored by ID.4 for the first time this weekend. The logo of the fully electric compact SUV will replace the emblem of main sponsors Volkswagen in the coming weeks.

At the pre-match press conference, head coach Stephan Lerch answered the media’s questions on…

…the momentum from the DFB Cup semi-final: “It’s important that we do the simple things, but obviously our success against Bayern is on our minds as well. The atmosphere in training has been very good in the last two weeks.”

…SC Freiburg: “Freiburg play particularly well as a collective. You can’t just single out two or three players, but they’ve clearly improved overall and have a good structure to their game.”

…the Bundesliga table: “FC Bayern Munich [who sit five points above Wolfsburg] are about to have a heavy schedule with their games against Chelsea in the Champions League and their league fixtures. On top of that, they now face TSG 1899 Hoffenheim right after the international break. I’ll be following that game, but I won’t be sitting in front of the TV for 90 minutes on Saturday just to root for Hoffenheim.”
