VfL welcome SM Caen to the AOK Stadion on Tuesday.
VfL Wolfsburg face French second-tier side SM Caen on Tuesday afternoon (kick-off 15:30 CET) in the club's second friendly fixture of the summer.
First team to play 45 minutes
VfL head coach Oliver Glasner is planning to use the occasion to take a closer look at his charges under match conditions while also giving an opportunity to youth academy players to showcase their talents. As such, the first team will take to the field for the opening 45 minutes, with the U23s replacing them at half-time.
Caen eyeing promotion
Glasner's side recorded a 2-1 victory over Hansa Rostock in their first pre-season friendly last Saturday – incidentally playing at the same time as Caen, who drew 1-1 against French third-division outfit Stade Laval with their goal coming from Herman Moussaki. The Normandy-based club were relegated from Ligue 1 last season after finishing 19th, but are aiming to bounce straight back up under the guidance of new Portuguese coach Rui Almeida.
