Drei Spielerinnen der Frauenmannschaft des VfL Wolfsburg laufen zueinander und bejubeln einen Treffer.

The VfL Ladies have been a class apart in the Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga this season and continued their perfect record with a 3-1 triumph over Hoffenheim in their final home game of the calendar year. Pernille Harder (28’, 43’) and Ewa Pajor (45’) got the goals for the She-Wolves, while Alexandra Popp also missed a penalty in front of approximately 1,300 spectators at the AOK Stadion. The 2017/18 double winners remain seven points clear of second-placed Bayern Munich and return to action at 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam on Wednesday 5 December (kick-off 19:00 CET).

“We had to fight very hard”

VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: “I want to point out that we were very disciplined in defence in both halves. After the break we put the game to bed brilliantly. We had a lot of possession and wanted to add to our lead. When you think about the shot that struck the post and obviously the penalty, we could easily have done so. Thirty points after ten games - we’re very happy about that, but we had to fight very hard for the win today.”
