Route to Cologne mapped out

VfL Women to face SV Werder Bremen in DFB Cup quarter-finals.

VfL-Frauen spielen am Sonntag, 18. November, beim FC Forstern.

While the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup have yet to be played, the eight clubs involved now know their theoretical path to the final after the draw was already made by the DFB, giving the teams time to prepare in advance.

VfL Wolfsburg Women now know who they will have to beat if they are to win their seventh cup title in a row. First up are SV Werder Bremen, who they will take on at the AOK Stadion on 20/21 March (live on Wölfe TV). The exact date and kick-off will be determined in the coming days.

Huge potential match-up in semis

The She-Wolves are very much the favourites in that quarter-final tie, having secured a 5-1 win at Bremen to finish off the first half of the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga season. Should they progress, then they will certainly have their work cut out in the semi-finals if they are to defend their crown, with a home tie against either TSG 1899 Hoffenheim or FC Bayern Munich awaiting them.

The semi-finals will be played on 3/4 April with the final to be held at Cologne’s RheinEnergieStadion on 30 May.
