VfL Wolfsburg are linking up with one of the world's most renowned companies in the business sector. The Bundesliga club have agreed a partnership with Deloitte, the globally oriented management and strategy consultancy firm, that will run until the end of the 2022/23 season. The scope of the collaboration covers a wide range of areas. A central component will be the topic of digitalisation. In addition, the two parties will implement joint projects with a particular focus on diversity, education and sustainability. Deloitte is also committed to the VfL Women as a new ChampionsPartner. From now on, Deloitte will be listed as an official partner for digitalisation and CSR, and as an exclusive partner in the international project ‘Wolfsburg United’.

“As one of the leading global consulting firms, Deloitte is an ideal partner to accompany us in the digital transformation of our organisation,” said VfL managing director Michael Meeske. “Furthermore, we are united by our belief in diversity and education, which is why we are very much looking forward to the partnership and exciting projects.”

Deloitte is currently already contributing its expertise in the field of digitalisation to various projects to further advance the digital expansion of the Volkswagen Arena. As part of the partnership, the Deloitte logo could appear on the international LED advertising hoardings in the stadium. However, Deloitte will “donate” this visibility to a selected CSR project. This season, the beneficiary is the non-profit organisation ReDi School of Digital Integration, which supports refugees, migrants and Germans without access to digital education in various ways to improve their IT and digital skills in order to facilitate their entry into the employment market.

“We are looking forward to rethinking digitalisation topics with VfL Wolfsburg and accompanying the club in the implementation of important digitalisation steps,” said Jörg vom Hofe, a partner at Deloitte Consulting. “Even without the Covid-19 pandemic having a strong impact on the link between clubs and their fans, the stadium experience of the future is changing profoundly due to new digital possibilities. With our interdisciplinary teams of strategists, technology experts and creative thinkers, we will support VfL in shaping the fan experience. In addition to the project work, we are looking forward to advancing the topics of inclusion, diversity and sustainability together with VfL.”
