The coaches give their thoughts following VfL Wolfsburg's opening UEFA Europa League match against FC Oleksandriya.
The Wolves returned to the European stage with a 3-1 triumph on Thursday as head coach Oliver Glasner's troops dominated large periods of the game and deservedly took all three points.
Oliver Glasner: "We've very happy to have started with a home win. Oleksandriya began as we expected them to: they attacked us very high up the pitch and we needed a while to get into the game. Then we scored two very good goals, so overall I'm pleased with the performance. It wasn't an easy situation because everyone was expecting a home win, but we knew all about the opposition and that they're a good team. It was great to see us score a third right after we'd conceded."
Volodymyr Sharan: "I'd like to congratulate Wolfsburg on their victory, and also my own team for making their debut in the Europa League. You have to say that Wolfsburg were clearly the better side in technical terms. We looked good going forward, but not so much at the back unfortunately. We pulled a goal back but then conceded again right away to make it 3-1. After that nothing really worked for us."
