Following the international break, the Green-and-Whites are gearing up for the Bundesliga away match against FC Schalke 04 on Saturday 21 November (kick-off 15:30 CET). In his pre-match press conference, head coach Oliver Glasner spoke about…

…opponents Schalke: “I don’t think there’s any danger whatsoever of us underestimating the opposition. You can’t do that with any team in the Bundesliga. We shouldn’t concern ourselves with Schalke’s form. It’s about us delivering a performance on the pitch, and if we do that we can compete with any team in the league. We’re going to Schalke with confidence after the 2-1 win against Hoffenheim.”

…the upcoming match: “We’ll try to put the opponents under constant pressure and we’re expecting a match with a lot of tackles. Schalke have three physically strong centre-backs and a lot of players with physical presence, so we need to stand up to that. The more we can impose ourselves there, the higher our chances of winning.”

…team news: “A lot of the injured players are back and available. Our captain Josuha Guilavogui has coped well so far with the demands of training after his injury and is an option for the starting line-up. Maxence Lacroix has also returned to training without any problems. Centre-back Marin Pongracic, who had worked his way back into the team after his glandular fever, tested positive for COVID-19 while with the Croatian national team and is self-isolating.”
