No joy for young Wolves

Wolves U19s lose in Salzburg.

VfL’s U19 side lost 3-0 to FC Salzburg in their third UEFA Youth League match. The young Wolves defended valiantly but offered little threat going forward.

They can quickly avenge the defeat, though, with the two sides meeting again on Tuesday 2 November. Kick-off at the AOK Stadion is at 14:00 CET.

Reaction

Christian Wimmer: “We’re disappointed after the match here in Salzburg. We fell behind in the first half through a deflected free-kick and then conceded two goals on the counter shortly before the end.”
