Our heartfelt thanks to Bruno Labbadia and eight more departing Green-Whites.
‘Twas ever thus on the last matchday of the season – time to bid players, coaches and staff members farewell. And what better way to do it for the nine Green-Whites who were sporting club colours for the last time than the 8-1 win that saw the Wolves qualify for Europe? A record win for club and qualification for European competition – Bruno Labbadia and co. could have wished for no greater send-off.
Last round of applause
The official goodbyes for 53-year-old Labbadia, whose role as head coach will be taken over next season by Oliver Glasner, were made by the club ahead of the match against FC Augsburg. His assistants Eddy Sözer and Olaf Janssen are also leaving VfL, as is the case for players Sebastian Jung and Paul Verhaegh, fitness coach Günter Kern, physiotherapist Jörg Drill, video analyst Thomas Frahndl and coach driver Guido Vicinotti.
VfL would like to thank all nine of them for their passionate commitment to the Green-White cause day in, day out, and send them every best wish for the future.
