Admir Mehmedi returned to full training at the start of the week, but a thigh injury has prevented Marcel Tisserand from taking part.
Two training sessions were on the schedule for VfL Wolfsburg on Tuesday. In freezing temperatures, head coach Bruno Labbadia focused in particular on set-pieces and finishing. Goalkeeper Koen Casteels and Josip Brekalo were both involved following their return from international duty. Tisserand was also due to take part but he sustained a thigh injury while in action for Democratic Republic of Congo and is awaiting further tests.
While Daniel Ginczek and Paul-Georges Ntep trained individually at the VfL-Center in the morning, Mehmedi completed the whole session with the group after returning to full training at the start of the week. “It’s a great feeling to be back training with the team again,” said a delighted Mehmedi. “I’ve had lots of little niggles recently but I’m confident that I’m now fully fit.” He then worked in the gym in the afternoon, along with others including captain Josuha Guilavogui, and stressed that he’ll be available for this weekend’s match against RB Leipzig (Saturday 24 November, 15:30 CET): "Hopefully I can now complete the full week’s training and then be ready for the game.”
