Omar Marmoush joins second-tier side until end of 2020/21.
Omar Marmoush has joined Hamburg-based Bundesliga 2 outfit FC St. Pauli on loan until the end of the season. “It’s very important for Omar’s development that he plays regularly,” said VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer. “That’s why the loan is the right move for him to gain more experience and take the next step in his development.”
Marmoush joined VfL from Egyptian first-division side Wadi Degla SC in 2017. The striker was promoted to the Wolves’ first-team squad last term, making his Bundesliga debut off the bench in the 4-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen. The 21-year-old was handed his full debut for the club earlier this season in the 2-0 victory over Desna Chernihiv in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round.
The Egyptian, who extended his contract with VfL until 2023 last summer, has made six Bundesliga appearances for the Green-and-Whites to date, as well as two outings in the DFB Cup and one each in the Europa League and Europa League qualifying rounds.
