Late call-ups for Arnold and Baku

Germany coach Hansi Flick has added two more VfL players to his squad.

The German Football Association (DFB) announced on Tuesday that Ridle Baku and Max Arnold have been drafted into the Germany squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Including Lukas Nmecha, head coach Hansi Flick’s squad now features three Wolves players. The call-up will mean a great deal to Arnold in particular – VfL’s record Bundesliga appearance holder has played just 13 minutes for Germany’s senior side, in a 0-0 friendly draw with Poland in 2014.

Flick’s side resume their qualifying campaign on Thursday 11 November (kick-off 20:45 CET) when they face Liechtenstein at the Volkswagen Arena.

Van de Ven called up

Micky van de Ven is also a late call-up for the Netherlands’ U21 side. The 20-year-old has yet to represent the Dutch at any youth level but could make his debut in the coming days, with the U21s playing Bulgaria in Almere on Friday 12 November and travelling to Gibraltar on Monday 15 November.
