Last-gasp winner

VfL Women leapfrog Eintracht Frankfurt in the table with a 3-2 win.

VfL Wolfsburg Women picked up an important home win under the floodlights on Friday evening, with Tommy Stroot’s side beating Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 to move above their opponents in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga table. Having trailed 2-0, the Green-and-Whites pulled a goal back through Dominique Janssen, who then netted the winning goal in the dying seconds of the match after Jill Roord had levelled the score in between. The She-Wolves are now top of the league, albeit temporarily as their rivals from Munich and Leverkusen can move above them again over the weekend. VfL are back in action in just four days’ time, when they visit Juventus on Matchday 3 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League this Tuesday, 9 November (kick-off 21:00 CET).
