New VfL Ladies signing Sara Doorsoun is impressed by the facilities at the squad’s training camp.
Summer signing Sara Doorsoun has been preparing for the forthcoming campaign with her new team-mates for around a month now following her move from SGS Essen. After the first few arduous weeks of pre-season in Wolfsburg, the versatile defensive player has been at her first training camp with the Green-Whites in Walchsee since Friday and has been impressed by the picturesque surroundings in Tyrol, Austria. “The conditions are fantastic, it’s a joy to train somewhere like this,” said the 26-year-old. “The facilities and the whole set-up are just great. You look out and you see the green mountains and trees. It’s something I’ve never experienced before at a training camp.”
“Every day’s fun with this team”
The weather and surroundings are far from the only positives at the camp in the mountain resort, however. Togetherness is also key for the VfL Ladies, a factor that has helped the Germany international settle in quickly and already feel like an established member of the squad. “I feel like I’ve been here for a long time already – that’s how well they’ve accepted me,” said Doorsoun. “Every day’s fun with this team. They’re all really nice and give me tips. I can definitely develop at VfL.”
