Buoyed by the 6-0 thrashing of Bayern Munich on Sunday, 13 VfL Ladies have joined up with their respective national teams going into the international break. Swiss duo Lara Dickenmann and Noelle Maritz face Belgium in the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019 qualification play-offs, while Pernille Harder does likewise for Denmark against the Netherlands.

All or nothing

Dickenmann and Maritz will go up against former VfL team-mate Tessa Wullaert in the first leg of Switzerland's tie against Belgium on Friday 5 October, ahead of the return fixture on Tuesday 9 October. Harder and Denmark are also eyeing a place in the play-off final, in which the winner will take the last available berth at France 2019.

Wolfsburg clash

There will be She-Wolves on either side of the pitch when Sweden take on Norway on Thursday 4 October, with Nilla Fischer lining up for the hosts against Caroline Hansen and Kristine Minde. Fischer and Sweden will go up against Italy five days later. Portugal captain Claudia Neto was due to play against China but the 30-year-old has not made the trip due to visa issues.
