A less-than-happy Oliver Glasner following the 1-1 draw with Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The VfL head coach credited his troops for not just showing the character to equalise with ten men, but also going for the win. He was not entirely satisfied with the performance, though. The reaction of the coaches after the game:
Oliver Glasner: “We had a very poor first half in all aspects. We came out better after that and then got the red card, which was obviously needless. After that, the team showed what they’re capable of. We were much braver in the second half, our pressing game was better and we ran quicker. We created more chances with ten men than we did with 11 in the first half. We can and have to settle for the point, even if we expected more before the match. But we need to speak about the first-half performance.”
Uwe Rösler: “We played very well in the first half. I was particularly pleased with the courage my team showed. We need to learn to get our rewards and maintain our courage. The red card didn’t help us. In the end we weren’t able to create the killer chances to win the game.”
