Following the disappointment of losing 2-1 to Hertha Berlin in the first home game of the year on Saturday, the Wolves were able to at least get some of the frustration out of their system a day later with a thumping friendly victory over Oberneuland. The Green-and-Whites were ruthless against the fifth-tier side on Pitch A next to the Volkswagen Arena, eventually running out 8-0 victors after leading 1-0 at half-time.
Daniel Ginczek: “We struggled for a long time against a compact opponent that sat back very deep. And, like in our last two league games, we had a hard time finding solutions to that, which is something we must and will work on. Things went better for us in the second half and you could see that we enjoyed playing. Everyone wanted to make the most of their chance, everyone was motivated and we scored some nice goals.”
