Die Frauen des VfL Wolfsburg laufen sich vor einer Trainingseinheit warm.

A week after the 5-2 win away to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, VfL Wolfsburg Women are once again in action for a night match in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga. On Friday 21 February (kick-off 19.15 CET), the league leaders will be hosting 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam at the AOK Stadion. Potsdam are currently fifth in the table but are on a three-match winning streak, averaging five goals a game over that period. When the teams met earlier in the season, the She-Wolves ran out 3-0 winners.

“Maintain the pressure”

“We need to maintain the pressure and not allow them any space,” said Stephan Lerch ahead of the first home match of 2020. The head coach will have the same squad to choose from as last week, meaning that Sara Gunnarsdottir will once again have to sit out the match due to a knee injury, as is also the case with Friederike Abt (shoulder). Around 2,000 fans are expected for the match under floodlights, including plenty from Potsdam.
